Less students in Swedish higher education in 2014

The last three years have seen a decline in the number of places offered in Swedish higher education, and this pattern seems to continue.

According to the latest reports from the higher education institutions, the number of full-time students totalled 287 200 in 2014, which is 2 000 less than the year before.

This decline has nothing to do with the number of applicants. Instead it is a result of reduced funding to the higher education institutions in the coming years.
